Stellar Labs Nutrition — Online Business Manager

Leadership • Communication • Organization

Stellar Labs Nutrition is a protein shake and supplement company started by a licensed nutritionist looking to create high-protein, easy-to-digest protein shakes for her patients who had digestive issues. At Stellar Labs Nutrition, I work as an online business manager responsible for e-commerce and customer communication, including managing returned orders, emails, and informing customers of product updates. Through this role, I have gained insight into how wellness is often marketed and bundled as a lifestyle and how that can exclude people who have financial barriers. This experience became the foundation for my interest in nutrition equity and systems-level health solutions.

My role at Stellar Labs includes overseeing the daily operations of the online store. I am the only employee of the company in addition to the owner, so I also manage all email inquiries, which includes explaining product information and answering questions. It is important that I ensure customers receive clear and fast communication. I also analyze sales trends and customer feedback to support decisions that improve trust. My work requires balancing operational detail with an understanding of consumer experience. I focus on how information is presented, how questions are answered, and how communication and design choices influence whether people feel confident using the product.

Key Responsibilities

  • E‑commerce management and product updates

  • Managing customer expectations and returns, including shipping and receiving returned items

  • Customer communication and issue resolution

  • Sales trend and feedback analysis

  • Reviewing information for clarity and transparency

  • Supporting data‑informed decisions

Looking Beyond Products - Working at Stellar Labs has revealed to me that there is a gap between how wellness is marketed and how health is actually lived. Many wellness products assume stability, disposable income, and time—assumptions that don’t reflect the realities many people face. Seeing this contrast has pushed me to think critically about nutrition as a systems issue rather than an individual choice. This perspective now shapes how I approach public health, prevention, and communication.

What This Experience Changed - My time at Stellar Labs Nutrition has reshaped how I understand health products. I saw how often wellness is glamorized, while structural barriers like cost and access go unmentioned. This pretty much reinforced my belief that health outcomes are shaped long before any individual decision is made, because prevention, design, and clear information matter just as much as treatment.

Stellar Labs has been more than a job to me. It was the starting point for how I now think about health systems, equity, and the responsibility institutions have in shaping outcomes.

Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch - Store Clerk
Organization • Teamwork • Responsibility

At Abercrombie & Fitch, I helped customers find clothes, kept the store organized, and supported daily operations.

Organization was one of my responsibilities to keep the store neat. This included folding clothes and restocking shelves so items were easy to find. I also had to maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the store.

Teamwork was important because I had to communicate with coworkers to keep the store running smoothly, support team goals, and train new employees.

Responsibility, including managing tasks efficiently and independently, was very important because we were one of the busier stores. I also had to open and close on some days and enforce company policies.

Leadership was an important skill to have when I had to help customers on the spot, step in to solve issues, and take initiative when necessary.

Travel

Travel has been one of my favorite ways to experience new environments, cultures, and everyday moments outside of my routine. Some trips changed how I think; others were just fun, memorable, or beautiful. All of them added something different to how I see the world. Some of my favorite places I have visited include Nice, France; Monaco; Barcelona, Spain; New York City; Mammoth Lakes, California; and Puerto Rico.

I went to Nice, France, this past summer with my family on a European trip to the French Riviera. Nice felt classic and intentional. Walking through the city, eating meals that lasted longer than expected, and noticing how people moved through daily life made the experience feel calm and grounded. We started the trip in Barcelona, which was colorful, energetic, and full of personality. Between the architecture, art, and constant movement, it felt creative and alive. Every corner felt like something worth stopping for. While staying in Nice, we toured the French Riviera coast from Èze to Monaco.

New York City is a place I visit often with my family. Every time we go, we see a different monument or museum. My favorite part about New York is that it is fast, exciting, and always moving. There’s something about the energy that makes everything feel possible. Every time I visit, I leave feeling inspired and slightly overwhelmed in the best way.

I have taken a few vacations to various warm places such as the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Puerto Rico was my favorite because it is vibrant and full of life. The colors, music, food, and energy made it impossible not to enjoy every moment. It felt warm in more ways than one.

One of the more unique places I have visited is Mammoth Lakes, California, when I went on a ski trip with my family. Mammoth was cold, challenging, and refreshing in the best way. Skiing there required focus and adaptability, and being surrounded by mountains made everything else fade into the background. The combination of movement, fresh air, and quiet made the experience feel grounding and energizing at the same time.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS

Johns Hopkins Medical Summer Intensive - I spent two weeks at Johns Hopkins University last summer in the Medical Summer Intensive Program. This is a program for students who want to become physicians or go into public health. We spent time at the University of Maryland Trauma Center and worked with a simulated patient undergoing a severe bleeding emergency. We dissected multiple animals, and I stitched up a pig. The experience far exceeded my expectations. I met students from all over the world, and this only clarified my love for wellness.

NSLC Medical Summer Intensive at American University - I spent two weeks at the American University Summer Intensive in Washington, DC, visiting various hospitals and learning about public health policy. The focus was on how politics and health policy are integrated. We traveled to various policy buildings in Washington, DC, and I made friends from all over the world whom I am still in contact with.
